Been Too Long
I had no idea it has been over a year since I last updated this blog. So much has happened since then. Well, I don't even know where to start but our year started with a funeral which was terrible. Christy lost one of her family, faith heroes, it was a rough couple of months after that for her. Then Matt had a busy summer with two weeks of camp back to back. He hurt his ankle during the first week and spent the second week in a borrowed, walking boot. It took several weeks for his ankle to heal but according to the doctor is was just sprained really bad. Then Matt had a week at the National Convention in Charlotte, NC. In August, Christy surprised Matt with a birthday party for his 30th birthday. All of our family from Tuscaloosa was there and he had no idea! This year Jayse turned 3 and we had a pirate birthday party at Wilder's World, which is a place full of jumpers for the kids to bounce on.
This has been a busy year at church too. We started the school year out averaging about 30 teens on Wednesday night for several weeks. And then sports started and other things but we still have about 20 every week. Matt has been able to preach a lot this year and he really enjoys that, of course. Christy got a promotion last August at work and she is now a legal assistant, which she enjoys much more than the department she was in.
Jayse's daycare announced in the middle of October they were closing at the end of the year because they couldn't afford to make the changes to the building that the state was asking them to make for safety reasons. So we have changed to a new daycare and this was our first week. He did good for the most part. Monday he did great but you could tell he didn't like what was going on. Tuesday was horrible for him and his mom. He cried and cried out for his mom and so of course then Christy was crying. The rest of the week was better even though he didn't want us to leave. Hopefully, the next week will be better. He has several kids from his old school coming to his new school so that should help.
Jayse loves sports, especially baseball and football. He likes playing with dinosaurs and superheroes. He likes Bibleman, Spiderman and Batman and pirates too. Some days he wants to be referred to as one or the other instead of Jayse.
The rest of this year should be just as eventful. We have sold our Dothan, AL house and will be closing on it next week. We have an offer on a house here in Albany and hopefully will close on it before Thanksgiving. I am sure Christmas will be eventful too. More to come....
